Rumworth School is a highly regarded Local Education Authority maintained special school in Bolton with an excellent reputation for providing an outstanding provision for all students. We are seeking to recruit a permanent Teacher or Unqualified Teacher of Music to join our expanding staff as a form teacher for September 2026.
We cater for a range of learning difficulties and additional needs for 360 students, with a planned expansion to 400 places. Our students are aged 11 to 19, and all have an EHCP for a range of SEND, including Moderate / Severe Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Hearing / Visual Impairment, Physical Disability and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

Responsibilities- Work as a specialist Music teacher, with the potential to offer additional subjects as appropriate.
- Be a form teacher within a strong pastoral structure, teaching a form class for part of the timetable.
- Contribute to one of the school's five Faculties: English, Maths, Science & Technology, Arts & Humanities, and Preparation for Adulthood.
- Be flexible to teach across more than one Faculty and across a range of abilities and ages as required by the school.
- Engage with the school's wider curriculum and enrichment activities to support students' development.
- Qualified Teacher Status (M1 to M6) with an annual SEN allowance of £5,497, or £2,787 for ECT.
- Alternatively, suitable for someone with relevant experience and a degree who is keen to progress to QTS, joining as a UQT on the UQT scale (UQT1 to UQT6).
- Part-time or full-time opportunities available: 3, 3.5, or 4 days per week (0.6, 0.7, or 0.8 FTE). Please indicate your preference in your application.
- Possible to offer the post to someone who has SEND experience and is working toward QTS.
- Salary: Qualified teachers at M1 to M6, plus SEN allowance as above.
