About the roleWe are looking for a Design and Technology Teacher from September 2026, full time, who will deliver inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning within the Design Technology curriculum. You will continually strive to produce outstanding teaching and learning so all pupils succeed, under the reasonable direction of the Senior Leadership Team and in line with current School policies.
You will have the opportunity to work with an enthusiastic and progressive department within this unique Specialist Provision and become a valued member of a friendly staff group.
You will be delivering Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5; knowledge of Key Stage 2 Design Technology is also beneficial.
Areas of responsibility- Promote the learning and achievement of all pupils, ensuring equality of opportunity.
- Plan and prepare long term and medium term plans.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of relevant course content.
- Create a purposeful learning environment.
- Teach according to individual educational needs and mark work.
- Deliver engaging, motivating lessons based on high expectations and designed to raise attainment levels.
- Provide effective personalised provision and differentiated tasks.
- Develop respectful, trusting, supportive relationships with pupils and support their full educational potential.
- Use literacy, numeracy and IT skills to support teaching and other professional activities.
- Use assessment to address pupils' needs, set realistic and challenging targets, and plan future teaching.
- Incorporate preparation for adulthood into the curriculum.
- Deliver innovative learning and undertake assessment using a broad range of methods, taking full responsibility for all pupils' success and developing a personalised, holistic approach in every lesson.
