About the Role:

As a Teacher of Maths at Downsend, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, inspiring Maths education across the school. Working closely with the Head of Maths, you will contribute to a dynamic department with a clear ethos, positive culture, and commitment to excellence. You will plan and teach engaging lessons, ensuring that every pupil is challenged, supported, and motivated to achieve their full potential. Alongside your classroom practice, you will help shape our enrichment offer-whether through whole school numeracy challenges, competitions, or cross curricular STEAM initiatives. You will also participate in the development of our Virtual Learning Environment and contribute to the wider life of the school. This is a role where your passion for Maths, collaborative spirit, and professional drive will make a meaningful impact.

Who We Are Looking For:

You will be an exceptional and committed Maths teacher, able to demonstrate strong pupil progress and behaviour management, alongside excellent communication and organisational skills. With a good honours degree and QTS, you will bring experience teaching Maths to GCSE and A Level, plus enthusiasm for ongoing professional development. Calm under pressure and confident in your practice, you will work well within a supportive team and enjoy contributing to co curricular life. Most importantly, you will inspire young people-making Maths stimulating, accessible, and enjoyable.
