Location: Sutton
Salary: M1-M6 (Main Pay Scale)
Contract: Permanent

The Role

They are seeking an experienced, passionate Health and Social Care teacher to join there dynamic and forward-thinking department. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact on students' lives and be part of a school community that values excellence in teaching and learning.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons in line with the national curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners and to support progress and attainment.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and interventions where necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues within the Health and Social Care department and across the school to enhance teaching practice and curriculum delivery.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a culture of high expectations.
  • Support the wider school ethos of pupil wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Health and Social Care at secondary level.
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students to develop their Health and Social Care.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate pupils.
  • Be committed to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Show a proactive approach to professional development and teamwork.
  • Have a good understanding of assessment strategies and use data effectively to support pupil progress.
