Teacher (HoY)

Teacher - Head of Year (Y7-Y11) - Inner London Pay Scale + TLR 2C - Permanent post, required from 1st September 2026.

The Governors of La Sainte Union Catholic Secondary School are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner to join our school as a Teacher with Head of Year responsibility. This is a teaching post where strong applicants able to teach any subject will be considered, combined with a significant pastoral leadership role as Head of Year (Years 7-11).

Role

• Deliver high-quality teaching within their subject area.
• Lead a year group, ensuring outstanding pastoral care, wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Drive high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement.
• Lead and support a team of form tutors.
• Work closely with families, staff and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for all pupils.
• Implement targeted interventions to support pupil progress and personal development.

• Is an excellent teacher with a strong track record in the classroom.
• Has the ability or ambition to take on pastoral leadership.
• Is highly organised, resilient and proactive.
• Builds strong, positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
