Job Description
Related Argent is looking for an experienced Tax Manager who will play a crucial role within the tax and finance team, overseeing the outsourced corporate tax compliance process; maintaining and improving internal controls; and providing technical support to finance colleagues (VAT and CIS). About the role

You will partner with colleagues across the business (development management, asset management and corporate) to ensure that:

  • Tax matters are addressed in a solution focussed, commercial and pragmatic manner; and
  • Colleagues are kept up to date with relevant changes in tax practice and legislation

You will support the tax team at all stages in an investment lifecycle including:

  • Set-up of corporate structures;
  • Land/asset acquisitions;
  • Joint venture investments;
  • Debt financing transactions;
  • Tax forecast modelling; and
  • Exit strategies
What you will deliver Corporate/income tax compliance and reporting:
  • Manage external advisors to ensure tax provisions and returns are delivered by in line with stakeholder deadlines;
  • Review returns and ensuring any tax liabilities are flagged to stakeholders in a timely manner; and
  • Prepare effective communications on key highlights to relevant stakeholders (internal leadership and investor tax teams).
International tax:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant BEPs measures - Corporate Interest Restriction, UK/US Anti-Hybrids and Transfer Pricing.
  • Prepare and maintain tax forecast models based on latest business plans, ensuring that future tax liabilities are accurately signposted to leadership and stakeholders.
Tax processes and governance:
  • Ensure the Group can demonstrate a gold standard tax governance and control environment through:
  • Review, improvement and maintenance of internal tax processes and control framework
  • Management of a full and effective tax document management system.
Ad-hoc matters:
  • Competently address ad-hoc queries in relation to VAT, SDLT, CIS, and employment taxes.
Skills and attributes you will bring
  • Extensive Real Estate tax experience (accounting practice or within industry).
  • Strong awareness of international tax, VAT, SDLT, CIS and employment taxes.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solution focused, commercial and pragmatic thinker.
  • Highly organised individual with an ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
  • Confident communicator with an ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax audiences in an understandable manner.
  • Proactive self-starter with a willingness to identify and complete relevant workstreams.
