T2, Business Operations Manager, M&A, Strategy Risk & Transactions Advisory

Deloitte's highly successful M&A business supports corporates, private equity and financial investors across the full M&A lifecycle, helping clients identify and realise sustainable value at every stage of a transaction - from diligence through to deal driven business transformation.
As part of the M&A Operations team, the Business Operations Manager will support the commercial, operational and people priorities of M&A as one of Deloitte's most successful businesses. This is a broad role with the opportunity to contribute to business performance, support operational improvements and help deliver key business initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across M&A, Finance, HR and Technology to support delivery of the business plan and the continued growth of the business.
This role is dynamic and closely aligned to M&A's priorities, which continue to evolve in response to market conditions and the wider business environment.
Key responsibilities- Supporting the delivery of M&A's strategic priorities through analysis, reporting and coordination
- Supporting financial performance through annual budgeting, forecasting, reporting and commercial analysis
- Contributing to initiatives that improve pricing discipline, delivery effectiveness and operational performance through data, analytical tools, AI enabled solutions and offshore delivery capabilities
- Managing governance processes, operational reporting, systems and management information that support the effective running of the business
- Providing insight into the evolving shape of the business through headcount analysis and workforce reporting to support decision making
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, promotions, talent and employee engagement activities in partnership with HR and business leaders
- Coordinating and supporting business improvement initiatives, including the adoption of new business systems, AI enabled ways of working and operational change programmes
- Building strong working relationships across key enabling functions, including Finance, HR, Technology and other business services teams, to support delivery against business priorities
The M&A Business Operations Manager will combine strong analytical capability, commercial awareness and operational excellence with the ability to build effective working relationships across a complex stakeholder environment.
Essential requirements- Experience in financial planning and analysis within a large and/or complex organisation
- Experience supporting business management and operational activities, ideally within a professional services environment
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manage, manipulate and analyse large and/or complex datasets efficiently
- Strong PowerPoint and Word capability, with the ability to communicate insights clearly and effectively
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying improvements and delivering outcomes
- Experience using data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Experience supporting business transformation, systems implementation and/or change management programmes
- Exposure to AI-enabled tools, operational improvement initiatives or alternative delivery models
- Commercially minded, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
- Able to understand strategic priorities and translate them into effective operational delivery
- Collaborative and relationship-focused, with the ability to build effective networks across functions
- Self motivated and adaptable, with a willingness to take ownership of workstreams and deliver outcomes
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving business priorities
