At Amazon, security is central to maintaining customer trust and delivering delightful customer experiences. Our organization is responsible for creating and maintaining a high bar for security across all of Amazon's products and services. The Systems Engineer role in Amazon Security will raise the security bar by delivering industry best security services.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the 24/7/365 operation, including on call support within an on call rotation once every 4-6 weeks.
• Own security for Amazon's services such as EC2, S3, and the global retail sites, and support Amazon Foundational Security Services.
• Dive deep into security technologies such as new access control design patterns, identity security services, access control, authorization, authentication, and lifecycle management to support customers as Amazon continues to scale.
• Design new security features, deploy software through large automated systems, and operationally support security software.
• Automate fixes for operational issues and solve design problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical degree or related experience.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment.
• Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.
• Experience working in at least two of the following languages: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or Bash/Shell.
• National of an EU member state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of configuration management systems, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or related systems.
• Experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration.
• Experience in network capture and systems troubleshooting.
• Experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large scale computing environments.
