Job Description

Location: Cardiff (hybrid working)

We are looking for a System Development & Application Manager who will oversee, set the vision, and lead on the technical development and improvement of Hafod's business systems and applications.

This exciting new role will be key on informing and influencing the future landscape of our colleague and customer-based systems and applications, ensuring the organisation runs efficiently and we provide exemplar services to our colleagues and customers.

Working alongside Hafod's business functions, IT operations and Business Improvement Team the System Development & Application Manager will "lean into" the business and provide specialist skills and knowledge around use of our systems and applications and how they can support the delivery of services to our customer, ensuring our colleagues are able to work in an efficient and effective manner that is underpinned by digital tools.

The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis (36 hours per week), with the option to work a nine-day fortnight - have a day off every other week! We also embrace hybrid working with a mixture of office based, site-location and home working.

A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are desirable for this position as we have multiple sites across Southeast Wales and travel between sites maybe required.

What you'll do:

Drive Service Improvement through use of Business Systems and Applications

  • Get the basics right - manage a wide range of business systems, ensuring they are fit for purpose, have a high level of ability and are flexed to support our business requirements and needs.
  • Connect with you - Be a key advocate of change, and understand and unlock improvement ideas using technology through proactive colleague and customer engagement
  • Invest for a better future - by ensuring our systems, and contracts meet our needs and future proofed so we can continue to provide exemplar services.

What you'll need:

An extensive understanding and knowledge of business applications, have the ability to resolve live issues, manage enhancement requests whilst being proactive in the deployment of new systems. Providing the technical resources to support our improvement agenda.

You will have robust contract management arrangements and skills to manage our wide portfolio of business systems, ensuring our current systems meet our ever-evolving needs whilst ensuring current contracts are supportive and continue to be value for money.

Demonstrable experience of effective liaison with colleagues, outside agencies and key stakeholders to develop effective improvement opportunities associate with our business systems and applications.
