SVP, Corporate Communications

The Role: We are seeking to appoint a senior corporate communications leader to lead corporate communications activity, ensuring alignment with Avolon's vision, brand and stakeholder priorities. This opportunity offers an experienced communications professional the opportunity to shape and deliver impactful communications initiatives, provide governance and consistency across all externally facing communications and manage Avolon's branding across a range of communication channels.
Reporting to the Treasurer, the successful candidate will be based in our Dublin office and will work within a fast paced, dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver Avolon's corporate communications strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities, stakeholder expectations and brand positioning.
- Manage media relations, including drafting and issuing press releases and developing strong relationships with key financial and aviation journalists and media bodies in Ireland and internationally.
- Support financial communications in partnership with Investor Relations, including coordination of messaging for quarterly results.
- Lead the development, positioning and communication of major corporate publications, including the Annual Report, the Outlook Paper and other thought leadership.
- Lead communications planning around major industry announcements and events, including airshows and strategic partnerships.
- Manage Avolon's engagement with key industry conferences, including sponsorship, commercial arrangements, speaker participation and coordination with conference organisers, ensuring alignment with brand and company priorities.
- Prepare briefing materials and talking points for CEO and Executive Leadership engagements.
- Manage Avolon's relationship with external communications advisors, providing clear direction and governance while building a strong senior partnership to support media engagement and communications activity.
- Lead media monitoring and horizon scanning to track relevant press coverage, including competitor activity and industry developments, sharing relevant insights internally.
- Support engagement with government stakeholders, including briefing materials and messaging for meetings with ministers and senior officials.
- Lead and execute the governance, strategy and day to day management of Avolon's corporate website and digital channels, including ownership of the social media strategy, content planning, cadence and performance monitoring.
- Oversee the development of photography, videography and design assets in line with brand standards, acting as brand guardian and providing guidance to teams executing events and initiatives across the business.
- Oversee Avolon's engagement with corporate partners, sponsorships and CARE initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's brand and values.
A strategic communicator with excellent writing skills, strong stakeholder management, and ability to deliver under tight timelines, preferably with relevant and applicable knowledge of the aviation sector. Working within a lean team, the successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with a hands on approach to execution, leading key communications initiatives while maintaining strong governance and consistency across all externally facing communications. Demonstrates sound judgement in high profile or commercially sensitive situations, with a strong understanding of reputational risk and stakeholder impact.
Skills and Experience- Minimum of 7+ years in corporate communications with substantial experience leading communications in a complex, global environment, managing media relations, financial comms, major announcements and content pipelines.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong ability to craft clear, concise and compelling narratives across press releases, results materials, speeches, reports and internal messaging.
- Experience managing corporate brand identity and ensuring consistency across communications, digital channels and external engagement.
- Demonstrates strong cross functional project experience, with a proven ability to coordinate major projects requiring multiple functions to input under time sensitive deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and highly structured, capable of managing large comms calendars spanning results cycles, releases, events, social cadence and major reports.
- Confident communicator who can partner with ExCo to shape and communicate a compelling vision, prepare material and advise on reputational considerations.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the business and with external contacts, develop trust quickly with all levels.
- Proven track record of influencing business leaders. Self motivated and keen to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
