Job Description

Are you passionate about sustainability and want to help us achieve Net Zero?

Bouygues UK is seeking a Sustainability Manager in London to join our Climate and Environment team, which oversees our corporate strategy and supports our projects across South East England.

As the main contact for delivering sustainability certifications like BREEAM, WELL, and HQM, you will ensure our five pillars (Carbon, Energy & Water, Waste & Materials, Biodiversity & Ecosystems, Higher Standards & Collaboration) align with our ambitions.

About You:

  • Experience in Sustainability Management within the construction industry
  • Ability to develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with corporate targets and project requirements
  • Understanding and implementation of Management Systems (ISO14001, ISO50001)
  • Auditing and reporting skills
  • BREEAM, CSH, or Home Quality Mark Assessor qualification with experience in delivering certifications autonomously

A huge bonus if you have:

  • WELL Accredited Professional qualification or knowledge of other certification systems (LEED, SKA, NABERS, etc.)
  • Experience in whole building life-cycle assessments and Net Zero Carbon projects
  • Ability to conduct regular project KPI analysis and report internally against ISO9001, 14001, and 50001 standards.
  • Experience in creating Project Environmental Management Plans & Environmental Assessments, and IEMA membership (Associate level or higher)

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the Sustainability Strategy process to ensure project compliance
  • Oversee sustainability assessments (BREEAM, CfSH, WELL, HQM, Passivhaus, etc.)
  • Conduct periodic inspections and audits to ensure projects meet sustainability targets
  • Analyse project KPIs and carry out internal reporting
  • Develop and execute sustainability strategies and innovative best practices.
  • Manage Sustainability Consultants
  • Assist the Sustainability Lead in maintaining Climate and Environment Management Systems
  • Support the Sustainability Lead in advancing the sustainability agenda and improving business performance through campaigns, communications, and training.
  • Supervise a Junior professional to enhance sustainable business value
