Supported Accommodation Manager TAFF175
Posted 14 hours 2 minutes ago by Taff Housing Association
We are looking for a caring, compassionate and confident supported accommodation manager to help launch and lead Ty Parc, our new supported accommodation service in Abergavenny. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new Taff service from the beginning. You will lead a team supporting five care experienced young people aged 16+, helping them build the skills, confidence and stability they need to move on successfully into independent living.
We believe good support is built through positive relationships. This means working alongside residents rather than doing things to them. You'll help create a safe, supportive environment where residents feel listened to, respected, and able to work towards achieving their goals.
No two days will be the same. You'll be leading support that is shaped by real lives, experiences and progress, helping young people build trust, confidence and stability at their own pace. This is a meaningful challenge, and you'll be supported to lead it well. At Taff we work in a psychologically informed way and aim to build resilience in trauma affected young people, which can bring up many difficult emotions, both for them and for the colleagues who walk alongside them.
To be responsible for the day to day operation of Ty Parc, our supported accommodation provision in Abergavenny for five care experienced young people aged 16+. Working alongside support officers, you'll provide line management and leadership to the accommodation team, making sure young people living in the service receive psychologically and trauma informed support that helps them move towards independent living.
Responsibilities include:
- Management of risk relating to accommodation occupants.
- Acting as the service's safeguarding lead, ensuring concerns are reported and escalated correctly, maintaining safeguarding records, and liaising with the local authority's safeguarding teams.
- Co ordinating the management of compliance, property and Health and Safety within the home.
- Managing a team of 7 colleagues delivering a rota of 24 hour project that is open 365 days a year.
- Delivery of on call services as part of a rota, responding to incidents out of hours.
- Resource planning, recruitment and retention of colleagues for the accommodation provision.
- Setting key work requirements for young people and attending monthly panel meetings with the local authority to review progress, outcomes and support needs.
- Working in partnership with families, the local authority and other advocates to create a supportive system around each young person.
- Representing the service in multi agency settings and building positive working relationships with the local authority, statutory bodies, funders and other 3rd sector professionals.
- Planning and delivering on long term and short term targets/outcomes.
- Delivery of quarterly appraisals for all colleagues.
- Promoting colleague development through monthly 1:1s, reflective conversations and support that recognises the emotional demands of working in a psychologically informed environment.
- Leading the team in a psychologically informed way, modelling, coaching and encouraging reflective practice.
- Committed to expanding personal knowledge on psychologically informed practices relating to working with young people who have suffered trauma and guiding the staff team in those areas.
- Overseeing day to day budget management for the accommodation and working with the head of service to forecast budgets.
