Support Workers

On behalf of our client in public health, we are now recruiting Support Workers to join a new residential service for adults with an intellectual disability. These are long-term temporary contracts, with part-time and full time positions available.

Ideal candidate will have

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or Social Care Worker Qualification
• Has an understanding and experience of working people with intellectual disabilities
• Has a detailed understanding and experience in supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities and autism spectrum disorder and has training in Positive Behaviour Supports and Safe Medication Management
• Has ability to lone work
• Is fluent in English and clear intonation
• Can take direction from managers and will comply with policies and procedures
• Is flexible when required which can include providing personal care and assist in household duties
• Can document all care in line with care plan
• Experience working in residential care, special care units or ASD unit
• Has an understanding of the Health Act 2007 which is the legislative framework for regulations of residential services of people with Disabilities
• All statutory trainings are up to date which includes fire training, safeguarding vulnerable adults.
• Need to attend staff meetings with PIC as planned
