The role of this Personal Care Assistant

Our personal careassistants join our client's support team, providing reliable, essential careand support in their home. You will beemployed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be tosupport them only.

The post is for 14 hours per week, the hours of work will be between 10:00am and 17:00pm. Shifts will be allocated to meet the needs of the client and the rota so you should be flexible.

About the Client and Duties

Our client is a man withvery complex care and medical needs following an accident. He isvery easy-going with a sense of humour and has full capacity. Fullsupport is required to ensure he lives a healthy and happy life. Whilston shift you will support our client when needed and undertake light domesticduties around the home while maintaining an aseptic environment.

PA's should have priorexperience in complex care and demonstrate the ability to stay calm underpressure. You should be self-motivated and capable of workingindependently without direction. We are looking for someone who isfriendly, approachable, and easy-going.

Training and Support

We providecomprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:

  • Full induction
  • Health & Safety / FirstAid / Food Hygiene
  • Moving & Handling
  • ComplexCare Training inc: Tracheotomy Care, Oral Suction, Nebuliser, Cough Assist
  • GastrostomyCare / Medication via PEG
  • Catheterand Bowel Care
  • SpinalInjury Awareness

All training must becompleted before the start date, with training hours paid at £14.00 per hour

Requirements
  • Previousexperience in complex care is essential
  • Excellentcommunication skills, both verbal and written
  • Youmust be able to remain calm under pressure
  • Youmust be able to demonstrate a responsible attitude and be self-motivated
  • Commitment to long-term,person-centred care
  • You must be reliable,compassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality
