An opportunity has arisen for an Admin/Support Secretary to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
The role will provide support to the fracture clinic appointments team plus administration and secretarial services to the Orthopaedic Secretariat. The successful applicant should have experience in answering patient/customer enquiries and booking appointments within a hospital as well as excellent typing skills, good organisational skills and the ability to work within a team as well as unsupervised.

This post is part time 25 hours per week.
Base Location: Poole and Bournemouth
Main duties of the job- To support the fracture clinic appointments on the system and to phone patients accordingly.
- To provide support to the secretaries within the department undertaking typing of ward rounds and clinic letters.
- Undertake any clerical duties required by the team including any non-clinical administration duties as requested by the team.

Job responsibilities- To provide support to the secretaries within the department.
- To support the fracture clinic bookings team.
- To type clinical letters, ward round notes, operation notes and general correspondence from audio dictation.
- Use the Trusts computerised systems to enter and retrieve patient-related information as required, including Clinical Record Tracking, CaMIS and Electronic Patient Record.
- Undertake any secretarial and clerical duties required by the team including any non-clinical administration duties as requested by the team.
- To work as part of a team and to liaise with other team members to ensure most appropriate secretarial and administrative support is provided.

- Able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role.
- Good standard of general education to include GCSE (or equivalent) in English and numeracy.
- RSA II or equivalent with good level of speed and accuracy.
- Working in healthcare organisation.
- Knowledge of patient administration systems.
- Experience of general office duties.
