Support Secretary - Surgical Specialities

We are recruiting for a Support Secretary who wishes to join . You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards " working together, improving together".

We are currently recruiting to two separate vacancies within the surgical specialities administrative team.

One full-time post (37.5 hours per week) and one part-time post 27 hours per week) Working pattern to be negotiated upon appointment.

This role will be working within a dynamic office environment, supporting our experienced clinical teams to provide the very best possible service for our patients.

This fast-paced role will provide the right candidate with daily variety and ongoing sense of achievement. Encompassed within a high-quality administrative team, who will welcome new members to the department and support their development and understanding of the requirements of these exciting roles.

Main duties of the job

Provide a professional and efficient support secretarial service for the Surgical secretarial and administration team. This includes supporting clinical staff in different specialties within the department, in delivering a high-quality service for patients.

Job responsibilities

To provide a fast, accurate, comprehensive typing service to clinical specialties across and within General Surgery, Urology & Breast Care

Undertake compiling of letters using digital system TPRO

Act up to the role of PA, across the multiple specialities within the department, during their absence; training will be provided.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Good Standard of Education - 3 GCSEs
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Experience of secretarial work
  • Experience of working in healthcare settings

  • Self-motivation & use of own initiative

  • Ability to relate and communicate effectively with all staff levels both clinical and non- clinical
