Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

We are seeking a Support Officer to support to all Leicester City Council users.

The post will use a wide range of systems knowledge and skills in operating a range of applications and hardware to resolve service calls as quickly as possible to enable the customer to continue to deliver their business service.

This role requires someone that is experienced in rolling out IT equipment, a problem solver who can quickly establish the cause of the issue through appropriate questions and enable a solution as quickly as possible, whilst always delivering a high level of diplomacy, confidence and customer care.

This is a full time, permanent position working 37 hours a week. You'll be based at City Hall however, you'll be required to travel across the city to visit multiple sites to conduct work.

What you'll be doing

You'll bring hands on experience of supporting and implementing client hardware and technology solutions, with the confidence to troubleshoot issues and provide excellent user support. You'll be comfortable planning and coordinating hardware and software upgrades, ensuring systems remain up to date, secure and fit for purpose.

A strong technical background is essential, including experience configuring, testing, deploying and installing devices, solutions, upgrades and patches. You'll have a solid understanding of data protection, cyber security and best practice system management, ensuring the integrity and security of organisational information at all times.

We're looking for someone with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving, who enjoys getting to the root cause of technical issues and delivering effective resolutions. Just as importantly, you'll be adaptable and flexible in your approach, able to respond to changing priorities and support a wide range of technology-related activities across the organisation.

What you'll need

With experience of working in an IT desktop support role within a large organisation. You'll be confident in supporting Windows 10/11, Networking fundamentals, MS Team, MFA, Active Directory, Anti-Virus, SCSM and O365.

Rolling out laptops, desktop and tablets to a large organisation. Using your experience of ITIL Incidents, Service Request, Problems and Change management and of imaging laptops, desktop and tablets using Microsoft Service Configuration Manager (SCCM) to help support our employees.

Due to the nature of this role, you'll be subject to a full driving licence and will be able to drive (for DDA requirements, options can be discussed).
