The Company:

An exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join a leading Manchester Licensed apparel supplier in the UK. Working with all major retailers offering stylish nightwear across a range of toddler licenses, plus producing non licensed & licensed nightwear across Ladies, Men's and Kids.

The Supply Chain Planner reports directly to the Group Production Director and collaborates closely with the Finance, Warehouse, and Sales teams across our offices.

This role is centred around delivering strong administrative support and will be responsible for overseeing inbound global supply chain operations, planning international freight from overseas factories (primarily China, India, and other regions), managing container fill optimisation, and scheduling inbound deliveries across UK warehouses and partners. The role requires strong communication, data analysis, and ERP proficiency to support effective stock control and timely delivery.

The Supply Chain Planner will actively contribute to the group's objectives, support commercial goals, and assist in driving the organisation's growth in accordance with the Group's overall business strategy.

The Role:

  • Exception & Delay Resolution:Quickly identify and resolve shipment or production delays to maintain supply chain efficiency.
  • Liaise with overseas factories to manage production schedules and shipping timelines.
  • Plan sea and air freight bookings with forwarders to ensure smooth transport of goods to the UK.
  • Develop and maintain rolling shipment schedules aligned with UK demand forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Optimise container fill and coordinate loading schedules to ensure cost-effective shipments.
  • Create and maintain documentation for customs clearance and ensure compliance with UK import regulations.
  • Review and monitor purchase orders, tracking shipments from production through to final delivery.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics providers and warehouses to book deliveries across the UK and Northern Ireland.
  • Schedule timed deliveries to align with warehouse receiving slots or customer needs.
  • Prepare and track necessary import/export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and commodity codes.
  • Manage stock levels across multi-site warehouses using ERP systems (SAP Business one & GS)
  • Create and adjust min/max levels across over 1000 SKUs based on demand forecasts and sales history.
  • Work in close partnership with, Warehousing, Sales, Production and external partners (factories, freight forwarders, customs agents).
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve delays, damages, or discrepancies during the shipping process.
  • Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders regarding order status, risks, and updates.
  • Analyse data trends to ensure the right stock is in the right place at the right time.
  • Achievement of key KPI's such as on time delivery rate, container utilisation rate, inventory turnover rate and freight cost per unit rate.

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is ideal.
  • Previous experience liaising with and building relationships with customers.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload with targeted deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
