Supply Chain Planner - Onsite-Hull

Opportunity

You will be responsible for ensuring efficient production scheduling, maintaining materials requirements accuracy, and supporting inventory control through effective cycle counting and data management. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in aligning production output with customer demand while optimising resources and minimising waste.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery deadlines and optimize capacity.
  • Collaborate with materials planning to manage material availability and minimise shortages or excess inventory.
  • Analyse demand trends and inventory levels to support materials control decisions.
  • Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems, including item master data, production orders, and inventory transactions.
  • Identify and correct data discrepancies to ensure reliable planning and reporting.
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead and coordinate regular cycle counting activities to ensure inventory accuracy & investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in collaboration with warehouse and production teams.
  • Support annual physical inventory count processes and audits.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on schedule adherence and priorities
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reduce lead times, and enhance operational efficiency.
Skills and Attributes
  • Inventory Management - Skilled in maintaining optimal inventory levels to balance cost and service.
  • Production Planning - Coordinating production schedules with supply and demand requirements.
  • Data Analysis - Strong analytical skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to interpret supply chain data.
  • Attention to Detail - Ensures accuracy in planning and data management.
  • Problem-Solving - Quickly identifies issues and implements effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills - Clear and professional communication.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset - Seeks ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Experience/Requirements
  • Proven experience in a production planning role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with cycle counting programs and inventory reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to interpret supply chain data.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and inventory control best practices.
Travel Requirements

The role will be predominantly based at our Hull site and will require occasional travel to our other UK sites and very occasional international travel.
