Role Overview:

A leading UK based engineering and industrial distribution organisation is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to take full ownership of its import and export operations. Supporting a high volume, fast paced distribution environment, this role sits at the heart of the business and carries responsibility for the end to end flow of goods across international and domestic supply chains.

This is a senior operational leadership role with accountability for people, performance and delivery across the warehouse and logistics operation.

Role Summary:

As Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will lead a large on site team of approximately 60 people, managing all aspects of inbound imports, outbound exports and day to day warehouse operations. You will be responsible for ensuring goods move efficiently, compliantly and cost effectively, while maintaining high service levels to internal and external customers.

Working closely with procurement, commercial and senior leadership teams, you will play a key role in driving operational improvements and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the full import and export operation
  • Oversee international inbound and outbound logistics and customs processes
  • Manage day to day warehouse and distribution floor activity
  • Lead, develop and performance manage a large operational team
  • Ensure compliance with import and export regulations and trade requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement across service, cost and efficiencyManage relationships with freight forwarders, carriers and logistics partners
  • Own operational planning, forecasting and resource allocation
  • Deliver accurate reporting across volumes, costs and performance metrics
  • Partner with procurement, supply chain and commercial teams to support business objectives
Background and experience:
  • Senior level experience within supply chain or logistics management
  • Strong hands on experience across imports and exports
  • Proven leadership of large operational teams in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of customs, trade compliance and international logistics
  • Commercially aware with a focus on efficiency and service
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, high volume environment
Package:

The role offers a salary of £60,000 plus car allowance and performance related bonus, working in the Greater Liverpool Area.
