Supervisor - Manufacturing

To plan and deliver the day-to-day production requirement, and achieve / exceed KPI targets by ensuring proper running of a manufacturing area, including resources, equipment, processes and improvement activities.
To be single point of contact out of normal working hours, ensuring priorities are worked on, disciplines are upheld and technical or throughput issues resolved to ensure smooth running of the facility.
Tasks involvedSafety
- 6S - Set & maintain the 6S standard and ensure it is upheld in the area by all of the team
- H&S - Ensure everyone complies with health & safety, PPE, risk assessment, company policy and work instruction requirements
- NCR's - Monitor production quality and ensure issues are logged through the NCR process
- Problem Resolution - Investigate issues in a structured and logical manner using quality tools available (e.g. Problem definition, Containment, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Is/Is not analysis etc)
- Continuous Improvement - Identify, implement & track actions in a structured manner to improve processes & SQCDP KPIs (e.g. Delivery adherence, NCR fixes, Lead time reduction, Method development, Scrap Reduction)
- Quality System - Contribute to improving the quality system by reviewing and strengthening work instructions and working practices
- Projects - Take part in projects and trial activities as required
- Machines - Ensure equipment is running effectively and any maintenance issues are reported & raised through Limble in a timely manner
- Material - Manage stock (area dependant) and consumable usage as required
- Gross Margin - Identify & implement cost savings
- Planning - Plan and prioritise the daily cell/area operations. Work with Shift Managers and other Team Leaders to ensure resources are in place to deliver the throughput requirement
- Throughput - Deliver throughput vs targets and monitor area performance. Work with the team to recover if off track
- Organise - Work to lists & order priorities for the team
- Production Meetings - Attend & contribute to production meetings as required
- Leadership - Motivate, communicate & lead by example, by displaying the core values
- Coverage - Help organise staffing levels and holiday cover etc
- Skills - Develop the team, ensuring training is identified & up to date (e.g. Skills Matrix)
- Feedback - Carry out performance reviews / appraisals and hold team members to account for delivery of targets and complying with rules
- Recruitment - Support the interview & New Starter onboarding processes
- Key Point of Contact - For manufacturing and employees, pushing priorities & leading all areas out of hours
- Productivity - Ensure good focus across the shopfloor, including activity, throughput and efficiencies
- Standards - Uphold & challenge adherence to quality and discipline requirements (e.g. 1 st Offs, Timekeeping, PPE)
- Troubleshoot - Technical and process issues to maintain and improve production flow
- Responsible Person - For fire safety out of normal working hours
- Speed of response: Drives team performance (e.g. Throughput, DDP) and timely completion of tasks and improvements
- Pride in what we do: A passion and enthusiasm for the role. Ensuring a high-quality product is delivered by the area
