Join Amazon's mission to become Earth's safest place to work. We're seeking a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to join our mission of creating the world's safest work environment. This role offers an opportunity to directly impact associate wellbeing while driving operational excellence. As a WHS Manager, you'll be the site's safety champion, leading our Global WHS Program implementation. You'll combine hands-on safety management with strategic thinking to protect our people, bridging safety requirements and operational success with technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. You will work closely with Operations leadership to drive safety initiatives that make a real difference, conduct risk assessments, analyze safety data, and implement practical solutions that protect associates while supporting productivity. Your ability to build relationships and influence positive change will help shape our safety culture. You'll lead safety compliance efforts, conduct site audits, analyze incident trends, and target improvements where they matter most. Manage our first aid program and emergency response capabilities to ensure immediate care is always available. Your analytical skills will transform safety data into actionable insights, while your leadership will engage associates in our safety mission.

  • Oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
Additional Job Elements
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Work in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures; some sites have outside loading areas.
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs (where present).
  • Travel 50-70% of the time and work various shifts.

For those who do not have an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, certification must be obtained within 3 weeks of the start date.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Distribution Center or manufacturing safety experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization.
  • Certified Safety Professional preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort collaborating with site leaders.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and charts/graphics.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites remotely.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $115,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
