Sub Agent - Cumbria - Major Highways Project

Join a leading name in the UK Civil Engineering sector and a key player in infrastructure delivery and take the lead on a range of exciting current and upcoming infrastructure projects across Cumbria. We're looking for a driven Sub Agent Specialist to join their team on a high-profile highways project based in Penrith. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role from early planning through to construction delivery.
Your new role:
As Sub Agent, you will be instrumental in shaping the project's success. You will support early-stage planning and seamlessly transition into the construction phase, ensuring the project is delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team to refine and optimise the construction delivery plan.
  • Develop lean construction methodologies and support programme development.
  • Prepare PCF Products, RAMS, and other key documentation for mobilisation.
  • Lead on major utility diversions and manage the engineering team.
  • Ensure compliance with construction drawings and manage quality control.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including diaries and allocation sheets.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly site and design coordination meetings.
  • Support cost control through regular Cost to Complete reviews.
What you'll need to succeed :
  • Proven experience in a similar engineering management role, ideally on National Highways projects or frameworks.
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (BEng/MEng).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills within multidisciplinary environments.
