Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a charismatic and commercially minded Studio Manager to play a key role in the launch and growth of an innovative fitness and lifestyle concept in London.

This is an opportunity to join a growing brand at an exciting stage of its journey, taking ownership of the studio experience, leading the Front of House team and helping establish the culture and operational standards of the new London location.

You'll be someone who naturally brings energy into a room and enjoys building relationships. While fitness experience is a bonus, this role is ultimately about people, community and creating an environment members genuinely want to be part of.

As Studio Manager, you'll sit at the centre of the studio, balancing people leadership, member experience, commercial performance and day-to-day operations. You'll have access to membership and class data, using this information to understand what is working, identify opportunities and help the studio continue to grow.

The role will initially be highly hands on, with the expectation that you'll develop into an increasingly autonomous leader as the studio maturing.

The Role

Salary: £32,000-£35,000 per annum

Start Date: Ahead of the London studio launch

Working Pattern: Full-time, with shifts aligned to studio opening hours. This is a hands on studio based role, so you should be comfortable working a varied schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends where required.

Location: Battersea

Responsibilities: 1. Lead the Studio Experience
  • Act as the main point of leadership within the studio.
  • Create a warm, energetic and welcoming environment for every member.
  • Build strong relationships with members and get to know the community.
  • Ensure the customer journey is consistently smooth, engaging and on-brand.
  • Take ownership of member feedback and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Identify ways to make the studio experience better, from the moment a member walks through the door.
  • Set the standard for service and professionalism across the Front of House team.
2. Lead & Develop the Front of House Team
  • Lead, coach and motivate the Front of House team.
  • Manage the FOH rota and ensure the studio is appropriately staffed.
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of future team members.
  • Establish clear expectations around customer service and studio standards.
  • Keep the team engaged, motivated and connected to the wider brand.
  • Support team members in taking ownership and developing their skills.
  • Build a culture where people are encouraged to contribute ideas and take initiative.
  • Ensure communication across the team is clear, consistent and effective.
3. Membership & Commercial Growth
  • Monitor membership and class participation data.
  • Track agreed KPIs and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Identify trends and opportunities within membership and class performance.
  • Support the conversion of prospective members and membership upselling.
  • Ensure the FOH team is proactive in speaking with prospective and existing members.
  • Look for opportunities to improve member retention and engagement.
  • Use customer insight and performance data to inform decisions.
  • Work closely with senior leadership as the studio develops its commercial strategy.
  • Help shape the KPIs used to measure studio performance as more data becomes available.
4. Studio Operations & Standards
  • Oversee the daily operation of the studio.
  • Ensure the studio is clean, organised and presented to the highest standard.
  • Take ownership of operational issues and see them through to resolution.
  • Ensure members and instructors have everything they need for a smooth experience.
  • Identify recurring operational challenges and introduce practical solutions.
  • Help build and refine processes as the London operation develops.
  • Work closely with senior management to resolve wider operational issues.
  • Ensure the studio reflects the quality and standards expected of the brand.
5. Community, Events & Lifestyle
  • Support and help grow the brand's community initiatives.
  • Get involved in events, run clubs and other activities that bring members together.
  • Look for creative ways to increase member engagement.
  • Encourage members to connect with the wider community.
  • Help create a studio environment that feels energetic, social and inclusive.
  • Bring ideas and enthusiasm to how the brand can engage with its audience.
  • Represent the brand at relevant community events and initiatives.
6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Produce regular reports covering membership and class performance.
  • Monitor customer behaviour and identify emerging trends.
  • Gather feedback from members and the FOH team.
  • Identify areas where the studio experience or operational processes could be improved.
  • Work with senior leadership to turn insights into practical actions.
  • Take an increasingly strategic approach to the studio as it becomes established.
7. Build the London Studio from the Ground Up
  • Help establish the culture and standards of the London studio from launch.
  • Take ownership of issues and opportunities as they arise.
  • Help develop the systems and processes required for a successful London operation.
  • Build a strong and committed FOH team.
  • Develop strong relationships with the member community from day one.
  • Grow into an increasingly autonomous leadership position as the studio maturing.
The Person: Must-Have Experience:
  • Previous experience in a management, supervisory or senior customer facing role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine ability to connect with people.
  • Experience leading, motivating or developing a customer facing team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy studio environment.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in driving membership and customer growth.
  • Comfortable working with data, KPIs and performance reporting.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to get stuck into the detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Calm and confident when dealing with unexpected issues or challenges.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours within a studio environment.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for creating memorable customer and community experiences.
Highly Desirable:
  • Experience within boutique fitness, wellness, hospitality, lifestyle or another premium customer facing environment.
  • Previous experience managing a studio, gym, wellness space or similar venue.
  • Experience working with memberships, sales or customer retention.
  • Experience with community building, events or brand activations.
  • Experience working within a start up or growing business.
  • A genuine interest in sport, fitness, competition, hobbies or activities outside of work.
  • Someone who naturally brings energy, curiosity and enthusiasm to their work.
  • A strong understanding of what makes a community led lifestyle brand successful.
