This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the team at Britain's longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. The school, now approaching its 70th anniversary, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London. LFS alumni include some alumni include veterans (Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Ann Hui) and famous younger filmmakers including Daina Pusic, Oliver Hermanus, Babak Jalali, and the creator of End of the F king World, Jonathan Entwistle.
LFS is one of only two film schools in the UK to have received 'world leading' institution status and funding from the Office for Students.
London Film School is seeking a Student Support, Wellbeing and Inclusion Officer to provide practical, empathetic support to our diverse and international student community, while helping to foster a respectful and inclusive culture across the School.
What You'll Do:
- Act as a first point of contact for students seeking support with wellbeing, mental health, disability or personal concerns.
- Provide one-to-one advice and signposting, liaising with external counselling and specialist services where needed.
- Support reasonable adjustments and student learning plans in line with the Equality Act, including guidance on DSA.
- Respond appropriately to concerns relating to discrimination, harassment or bullying.
- Work collaboratively with academic and professional colleagues to embed inclusive practice.
- Deliver events and workshops that promote wellbeing and inclusion.
- Monitor disability support provision and maintain accurate, confidential records.
What We're Looking For :
- Experience in student support, wellbeing, disability or a similar role.
- A strong understanding of inclusion within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of Higher Education disability processes (e.g. DSA, reasonable adjustments).
- Excellent communication skills, empathy and discretion.
