Job Description

We are currently seeking a student services administrator to join our strong professional support team in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to carry out a range of duties relating to the student-facing services and administration of our programmes across the faculty.

An enthusiastic team player with a can do attitude, you will need to be highly organised with excellent IT and interpersonal skills, in order to provide a high quality service to both students and staff.

You will gain a good working knowledge of our systems and processes and University policies and procedures and will use this to provide effective and efficient administrative support. This is a demanding and varied role; you will be an organised self starter with exceptional communication skills and the ability to balance competing priorities in a busy environment.

We currently have one full time role linked to the Department for Language and Linguistic Science. While this role is situated in a specific department, student services role holders may be asked to support other department teams across the faculty if the need arises.

We welcome applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and ways of thinking. In this role, you will:

  • Bring thorough knowledge of administrative processes and procedures gained in a large complex organisation and your excellent IT skills to the role.
  • Provide administrative support to students and staff across a range of activities
  • Help deliver a high quality, accessible and inclusive service
  • Learn and use University systems, policies and processes to support day to day operations

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
  • Are organised and able to manage a range of tasks at the same time
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in a way that works for them and others
  • Are comfortable using IT systems (training and support will be provided)
