Grade B - £28,598 - £34,434 pro rata (Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review)

Opportunities available across Birmingham: Handsworth Leisure Centre, Kingstanding Leisure Centre and Linden Road Leisure Centre.
We are looking for passionate and qualified Swimming Teachers to join our Sport & Wellbeing Service team and deliver high quality swimming lessons as part of the "Strokes for Life" programme. You'll be responsible for teaching a range of abilities, supporting progression, and ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver structured swimming lessons in line with the "Strokes for Life" scheme.
- Work closely with the Site Manager and Swimming Co ordinator to develop and improve the swimming programme.
- Maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians to support learner progress and encourage retention.
- Validate and issue swimming badges and certificates.
- Keep up to date with best practices and attend relevant training and development sessions.
- Support the site during non lesson periods with alternative duties as required.
- Sound understanding of swimming instruction principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with both children and adults
- Ability to maintain accurate records and respond to enquiries
- Commitment to training and continuous professional development
- ASA/STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher Certificate
- Recognised Lifesaving Qualification
