Strategic System Optimisation Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic System Optimisation Engineer to join our team. You'll play a key role in developing and improving Thames Water's strategic water distribution system to make sure our customers receive a reliable, high-quality water supply every day.

Base location: Kemble Court - RG2 6AD. This position is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

What you'll be doing as a Strategic System Optimisation Engineer

• Developing and optimising the strategic water distribution system to improve performance and resilience.
• Supporting initiatives that consider water quality, leakage, energy efficiency and supply resilience.
• Acting as a subject matter expert on the source to tap operation of our water network.
• Providing technical support during unplanned incidents and contributing to contingency planning.
• Mentoring team members and helping to enhance data driven decision making across the business.
• Driving improvements through innovative new ways of working and business process reviews.

What you should bring to the role

• Experience in the water industry and knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to use data to identify and solve problems.
• Experience with GIS mapping systems, SCADA telemetry or Microsoft 365 (preferred).
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
• Background in project management or civil design/construction would be beneficial.
