Strategic Planning and Governance Lead

Overview

Our leading public sector client is seeking a dynamic Head of Strategic Planning & Governance to lead a high-impact portfolio spanning corporate planning, risk, equalities, information governance, complaints, and malpractice. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services, you'll provide strategic assurance to the Executive Team and Board, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

You'll manage specialist teams, drive continuous improvement, and act as Fraud Response Officer during sensitive investigations. The role demands exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to distil complex legal and governance issues into clear, actionable advice. You'll oversee corporate reporting cycles, equalities mainstreaming, FOI and data protection responses, and lead on malpractice investigations with tact and authority.
