Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience developing and managing partnerships in payments within the regional industry.
  • Experience securing payment processing or ancillary service agreements through direct negotiations or engagements with processors, issuers, acquirers, networks, or regulators.
  • Experience working with partners in adjacent sectors such as identity verification (IDV), e-invoicing, or disbursements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Knowledge of regional processing regulations, operating rules, and standard agreement terms, with the ability to understand business and technical requirements, assess cross functional impacts, and evaluate new opportunities quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic team environment with shifting priorities and cross time zone collaboration.
  • Excellent aptitude to derive actionable insights from large payment processing datasets, leading to process optimization with partners.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in French or Spanish to collaborate with local stakeholders.
About the job

Google's partnerships development team seeks and explores new opportunities with partners. As a Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead, you will collaborate with cross functional teams (Finance, Legal, etc.) to forge and manage partnerships with key players in the payments ecosystem, supporting Google's payment transaction processing for all products and services.

You will own partnership management, advocate on behalf of Google to engage with business, industry and regulatory leaders, and optimize Google's payment processes to ensure seamless user experiences while driving sustainability, innovation, scalability and efficiency across the industry. You will bring investigative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast paced team environment under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Guide Google product teams on EMEA payment methods practices, potential partners, industry regulations, and compliance requirements while serving as the decisive point of contact for resolving complex partner escalations (financial, operational, technical, regulatory, etc.).
  • Manage the full lifecycle of partnership development, including leading RFIs, RFPs, and agreement negotiations; build strong internal partnerships across Google to develop a comprehensive partnership strategy; and manage payment processing relationships with payments service providers, banks, and network partners.
  • Analyze partner scorecards, metrics, and assessments to drive continuous improvement.
  • Represent Google in strategic dialogues with partners, networks, issuers, acquirers, and regulators to enhance processing capabilities, compliance, and market sustainability.
  • Identify and advocate industry improvements across the EMEA payments landscape, shaping partner strategy to align with Google's product roadmap and emerging trends.

Compensation: Ireland: €144,000 - €148,000 (EUR) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
