Strategic Buyer

As a Strategic Buyer at Thomassen Energy, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely availability of technical products and services while optimizing procurement processes through ideation and innovation projects. You will lead cross-functional procurement teams for large projects, develop strategic supplier relationships, and support the Sales Teams in obtaining quotations with optimal conditions.

What will you do

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement cross-functional teams for large projects, coordinating all business activities to achieve purchase decisions that deliver the highest quality, reliability, and value.
• Take qualitative and quantitative responsibility for the full procurement process of tactical and strategic products and/or services for appointed product groups and/or suppliers.
• Develop, advocate, and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies for key spend areas to achieve short and long-term savings targets.
• Support the Sales Teams in obtaining quotations from suppliers and be part of the decision-making team to secure customer orders.

Specific Tasks:

• Implement performance guarantee contracts to minimize the company's risk and increase supplier accountability for non-performance.
• Lead process improvement initiatives that support the Supply Chain Management (SCM) vision.
• Support commercial departments in obtaining quotations from suppliers.
• Develop, manage, and maintain strategic supplier relationships that provide a competitive advantage to the company.
• Handle and complete quality deviations related to procured goods/services in cooperation with the quality team.

Your Profile

Education:

• Relevant bachelor's degree accompanied by NEVI 2 certification.

Additional Training:

• Lean Six Sigma experience, at least yellow belt or equivalent by internal training (ninja 1).

Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experienced in SAP and MS Office.

Personal Skills:

• Strong leadership skills.
• Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent proficiency in Dutch and English, both verbal and written. Proficiency in a third language is preferred.

Position within the Organization

You will be part of the Supply Chain department and report to the Supply Chain Manager.
