About the Company

We are a large, well-established manufacturing facility based in Redditch, supporting high-volume production and precision engineering operations. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Stores operative to join our production support team.

This is not a general warehouse role - we are looking for candidates with proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering stores environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Stores Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring production cells receive accurately picked and kitted components in line with route cards and bills of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Kitting parts for production and assembly in line with route cards and BOMs

• Reading and interpreting route cards, pick lists, and engineering drawings

• Issuing materials to production cells accurately and on time

• Using SAP or equivalent ERP/WMS systems for stock control and transactions

• Maintaining stock accuracy and supporting cycle counts

• Working closely with production teams to support manufacturing flow

Accuracy is critical in this role - you must demonstrate a strong track record of low error rates and attention to detail.

Mandatory Experience (All Required)

• Previous experience in a manufacturing stores or engineering stores environment

• Experience kitting parts for production or assembly

• Ability to read route cards, pick lists, or engineering drawings

• Experience using SAP or another ERP/WMS system

• Demonstrable history of high accuracy and low error rates

Desirable (But Not Essential)

• Valid FLT licence

• Experience supporting production cells

Not Suitable For

• Candidates with a pure warehouse background and no manufacturing exposure

• Candidates who have only worked in high-volume distribution environments (e.g., Amazon-style picking/packing)

• Applicants unable to explain what a route card or BOM (Bill of Materials) is

• Applicants unable to provide examples of accuracy-critical work
