Stock Team Manager

Bidfood Worcester Depot (WR4 0AN)

Salary: £36,492.79

Hours: 45 hours per week 5 from 7

Lead one of the most critical functions in a high performing depot. At Bidfood, stock accuracy is not just a process. It drives customer service, operational efficiency and depot profitability.

We are looking for an experienced Stock Team Manager to take full ownership of the stock function within our Worcester depot. This role sits at the centre of the operation, influencing warehouse performance, transport efficiency, availability and cost control across a fast paced multi temperature foodservice environment.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants real accountability, visibility within senior leadership and the chance to shape how stock management operates within a growing depot.

Why this role stands out
  • Genuine ownership of the depot stock operation
  • Direct influence on operational and financial performance
  • Leadership role within the depot management team
  • Opportunity to drive change and implement improvements
  • Clear pathway for progression within Bidfood

You won't just manage counts and reports. You'll lead people, challenge processes and improve how the depot performs day to day.

Responsibilities
  • Leading all stock control activity including PI cycles and stock accuracy performance
  • Managing depot availability while reducing waste and write off
  • Owning stock loss investigation and driving root cause resolution across departments
  • Working closely with Warehouse, Transport, Sales and Central Replenishment teams
  • Ensuring audit readiness, compliance and food safety standards are consistently met
  • Producing meaningful stock performance reporting that drives operational action
  • Developing and coaching a dedicated stock team to deliver high standards
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities

You'll oversee stock holding worth millions while ensuring accuracy, availability, and control remain uncompromised.

Qualifications
  • Has led stock or inventory teams within a fast moving logistics or distribution environment
  • Understands the commercial impact of stock accuracy and availability
  • Is confident influencing warehouse and transport operations
  • Enjoys solving problems rather than managing symptoms
  • Leads through standards, accountability, and engagement
  • Thrives in a fast paced operational environment

Foodservice or multi temperature experience is advantageous but not essential for the right leader.

Benefits
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Pension matched up to 6%
  • Life assurance
  • Health cash plan and wellbeing support
  • Employee assistance programme including GP access
  • High street and lifestyle discounts
  • Exclusive range of high street discounts including cinema, tech, travel, fashion, food and drink
  • Opportunity to buy dental cover and critical illness cover
  • Get paid as you earn - up to 20% of your pay before payday
