Main duties of the jobWe are looking for Step 2 and Step 3 Managers to join our leadership team within our NHS Talking Therapies Service. WithYou is a charity providing free, confidential support to people experiencing challenges with drugs, alcohol or mental health. In this role you will work with a wide range of mental health practitioners, partner providers and referrers to develop and grow our mental health workforce in Kent and Medway, supporting the development of Step 2 and Step 3 Talking Therapy services in line with local needs and contractual specification. As a Manager you will line manage a team of Step 2 or Step 3 Talking Therapies staff, deliver WithYou's strategic objectives and help them develop their performance in clinical work. We offer remote working but travel within Kent and London for meetings and events may be required. We are looking for two Step 2 Managers (one 37.5 hours and one 30 hours per week) and two FTC Step 3 Managers (contract ends January 2027).

Job responsibilitiesDevelop and lead the Step 2 and Step 3 services, ensuring high quality, effective and ethical provision of talking therapy. Support workforce development, recruitment and training of staff. Maintain contractual relationships and liaise with local NHS and third sector partners. Deliver services aligned with local needs and statutory specifications, meeting performance targets and maintaining safety and quality systems.
Essential Skills- ONC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or a commitment to complete within 18 months.
- Demonstrable experience working in the health, social care or criminal justice setting and partnering with a range of statutory and non statutory agencies; experience within a Talking Therapies Service would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Successful track record of management responsibility and development of others.
- Understanding of common mental health difficulties faced by clients.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Resilience, strong prioritisation skills, ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands.
- Results driven with analytical skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player in a collaborative and supportive manner.
- Flexibility to work unsocial hours as required.
- Willingness and ability to visit other locations from time to time to deliver services.
