Compensation: £30,368 - £31,661 / year

Description

We are currently forward planning for future roles that may become available as a Customer Service Host at Beaulieu Park Station. If you are successful in your application, you will be placed in our Talent Bank for up to six months. If a suitable opportunity becomes available during that time, you may be offered a role.

Positions may be available as Static or Relief roles, on either a full-time or part-time basis. Static roles offer a consistent shift pattern, giving you visibility of your shifts for the full year. Relief roles provide flexibility, with weekly rosters issued one week before the shift.

We are unable to accept your application if you do not meet the following criteria:

  • 35 hours per week (shift-based with 24 hours cover, including earlies, lates, night turns, weekends, and bank holidays) Earliest start time 05:45, latest finish time 23:00, night shift 22:00-06:00.
  • You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.
  • Applicants must be over 18 years of age.
  • Employment is subject to satisfactory Right to Work checks, a DBS check, and a safety critical medical assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting customers at the gateline and ensuring the safe, tidy and efficient operation of the gates
  • Helping to prevent ticketless travel and fraudulent activity
  • Reporting any faults and issues promptly
  • Assisting passengers with tickets, including checking them, general advice and making sure the gates operate
  • Providing the highest possible standard of advice, information and service to our customers
  • Delivering a safe, attractive retail station environment, with general cleaning, de icing
  • Participating in the safe running of trains and a safe station environment by complying with procedures
  • Promoting all relevant marketing materials and useful information
  • Work to fully meet the requirements of passengers, including during times of disruption, when there are service issues or emergencies
  • Provide passenger assistance to our passengers, meeting and greeting and dealing with onward travel arrangement to ensure everyone has the support required to meet their individual needs as a passenger
  • Able to safely operate customer access ramps and assist passengers with their luggage.
  • Providing support to mobility/ visually impaired customers, who may need to hold your arm or lean on you for guidance.

  • Have a friendly, approachable demeanour with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Are calm under pressure, able to think on their feet, and able to handle various situations
  • Possess a "can do" attitude and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Take pride in providing top notch customer service and passionate in ensuring customer safety
  • Have team spirit and bring your unique self to strengthen our team and foster a positive work environment
  • Knowledge of ticket types would be beneficial.
