Staff Validation Engineer

This client is an innovator within the High Speed domain focused on the development of Mixed Signal ICs and systems for a wide range of products in the data communication domain.

They are searching for an experienced validation engineer to join their team of experts in Bristol.

1. Performing laboratory-based RF testing with a good working knowledge of both high-speed digital semiconductor testing and optical component testing, and a strong fundamental lab-based test engineering knowledge.
2. Participate in new product design meetings and drive test feature development as required for the successful evaluation of new products.
3. Assist in designing the validation solution development for new products (software/hardware/documentation).
4. Identification of bench-top test equipment for the validation of new products.
5. Generation of test equipment automation software using Python or Labview.
6. Collaborate with designers, product, test, and applications engineers.
7. Participate in validation review meetings.
8. Creation of validation reports.
9. Testing of high-speed optical components, ICs, or modules.
10. Taking high-speed measurements in a lab environment on products operating at data rates of 10Gbit/s and above.
11. Utilising existing knowledge of high-speed signal integrity for schematic entry/layout using Altium PCB tools.

1. BSc/MSc in EE/ECE or HNC/HND with 6 years relevant work experience.
2. Able to work under pressure in a highly paced, dynamic R&D environment.
3. Excellent team player who positively interacts and shares knowledge.
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Capable of self-study/training/learning.
6. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Innovative and creative with attention to detail.
