Clinical Specialist Radiographer-Neuro-Interventional & Cerebrovascular Services - Permanent Full-Time
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing neurocranial surgery and neuro interventional radiology procedures.
- Deliver direct, patient-centred nursing care to assigned patients.
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments, including history taking, data analysis, and identification of patient care needs.
- Monitor, observe, and document patients' clinical conditions, reporting any changes and recommending appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in line with hospital policies for newly admitted patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to consultants' orders and safety protocols.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, and assist patients with daily care activities.
- Maintain strict infection control practices, including aseptic techniques and isolation procedures where required.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with clinical standards.
- Evaluate patient outcomes, provide education, and reassess care plans, while supporting team members and undertaking additional duties as needed.
- Must hold a valid NMBI Registered General Nurse licence in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience in neuroscience nursing.
- Recent and relevant experience in a specialised area within an acute hospital setting is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated organisational, planning, and time management abilities.
- Flexible approach to work, including participation in rotations, night duty, and on-call requirements.
- Understanding of change management principles and ability to adapt to evolving practices.
- Up-to-date knowledge of developments in the specialised field and relevant national nursing strategies.
