We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse - Intellectual Disability to a Care Home in Northwest Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual care plans, ensuring they are updated regularly in line with professional guidelines and company policy.
- Monitor residents' health, report any changes or concerns promptly, and arrange GP or multidisciplinary input when required.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation for all residents, including care plans, medication records, assessments, and handover notes.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with regulatory guidelines and company procedures, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to best practice.
- Carry out regular checks on residents, provide health supervision, and deliver direct nursing care as needed, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety at all times.
- Support effective communication by maintaining good relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and members of the multidisciplinary team, and participate in meetings when required.
- Promote and maintain health and safety standards by reporting hazards, faults, accidents, or infectious illnesses promptly and supporting safe working practices throughout the nursing home.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, safe, and well maintained, and report any repairs or replacements needed to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain professional standards by following all nursing regulations, company policies, and confidentiality requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance expectations.
- Support the smooth running of the nursing home by contributing to teamwork, providing administrative assistance when required, maintaining a secure environment, and performing additional duties as reasonably assigned.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, colleagues, and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- A genuine interest in working with the resident group and providing high-quality, person-centred care.
- Current registration with An Bord Altranais (NMBI) as a first-level nurse.
- Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Desired qualities include experience or qualifications relevant to the resident group, knowledge of HIQA standards, and previous supervisory or leadership experience.
