Job Description

We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse - Geneeral Inpatient Ward for a hospital in Galway , Ireland.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care and treatments in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures, professional standards, and clinical guidelines.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process while maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation. Support effective discharge planning based on individual patient needs.
- Safely administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood and blood products, and controlled drugs in line with hospital policies. Monitor patients following administration, document outcomes, and promptly report any adverse events or medication errors.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control best practices, collaborating with the Infection Prevention and Control Team to identify, manage, and report infections in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Ensure the safe handling, segregation, and disposal of clinical and medical waste while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient centred care.
- Demonstrate personal and professional accountability for the delivery of safe and effective nursing care.
- Hold a recognised qualification as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
- Be registered, or eligible for registration, in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to work a rotational shift pattern, including day and night duty as required.
- Have post registration nursing experience, preferably within a surgical or acute hospital setting.
- Show the ability to work independently while contributing positively to team objectives and patient outcomes.
