PositionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse District Nursing within our Garnock Valley and Irvine locality. The District Nursing area is based at Kilbirnie Health Centre.
HoursFrom 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part time staff) without loss of earnings.
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a weekend commitment. This post is offered on a fixed term, secondment basis until 1 September 2026.
UK Driving Licence / Car OwnershipA UK car licence/car ownership is essential for this role.
What you will doWorking as a Staff Nurse District Nursing within the Irvine and Garnock Valley District Nursing areas within North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership you will have experience as a qualified registered nurse and be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing programmes of care for a variety of client groups within the community.
You will be responsible for the management of the caseload in the absence of the district nursing Charge Nurse including the supervision and redeployment of staff.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the jobProfessional qualification in nursing - essential.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative, and as a lone worker within a variety of settings within the community.
You should be able to provide evidence of personal development and a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
