Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Staff Nurse: Cardiology/Cardiothoracic Inpatient Wardfor our client hospital in Dublin, Ireland .

Responsibilities- Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in accordance with the nursing care plan, hospital policies, and NMBI professional standards.
- Assess, monitor, document, and evaluate patients' conditions, administering medications and treatments while promptly escalating any changes in clinical status.
- Perform patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and specialty nursing procedures, ensuring accurate documentation, infection prevention, and patient confidentiality.
- Develop competency in caring for Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, and acutely unwell medical patients within the required training and competency timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and families to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care and patient education.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, accreditation programmes, and the implementation of best practice standards.
- Support the Nurse Manager by communicating clinical issues, assisting with risk management and complaint resolution, and deputising when required.
- Contribute to the education, orientation, supervision, and professional development of student nurses, new staff, and colleagues within the clinical area.
- Maintain professional competence by attending mandatory training, participating in performance reviews, developing leadership skills, and engaging in continuous professional development.
- Demonstrate flexibility in meeting service needs, maintaining professional standards, adhering to hospital policies, and supporting other departments when required.
- NMBI Registered General Nurse with an active licence in good standing.
- Recent and relevant experience in caring for acute medical or cardiology patients in an acute hospital setting is desirable.
- Strong interest in developing a career in Cardiology, Cardiothoracic, or Acute Medical Nursing, with knowledge of relevant national nursing strategies.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating initiative, motivation, and a positive approach to patient care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, organisational, and time management skills, with flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and on-call duties.
- Patient-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care while treating patients, families, and colleagues with dignity and respect.
