Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to elderly residents.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate residents' health and respond appropriately to changes in their condition.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Administer medications safely and accurately, maintaining appropriate documentation and records.
• Support, supervise, and mentor junior nurses and care staff to maintain high clinical standards.
• Assist with shift management, staff allocation, and the smooth running of the unit.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, GPs, and other healthcare professionals regarding residents' care.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control procedures, health and safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Respond promptly to clinical emergencies and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Promote residents' dignity, independence, choice, and overall quality of life.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for residents and staff.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMBI PIN.
  
• Minimum 2 years' post-registration nursing experience in Ireland.
  
• Significant experience in elderly care or nursing home settings.
  
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices, medication management, clinical assessment, and person-centred care.
• Previous experience in supervising, mentoring, or supporting junior nursing and care staff is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Genuine passion for providing compassionate and high-quality care to elderly residents.
• Good understanding of infection control, health and safety, and clinical governance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
