Main duties of the job

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the busy Outpatients environment, based across two acute sites: University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough. The successful candidate will be expected to work on an ad hoc or rotational basis, depending on service requirements and/or professional development needs.

The post holder will be required to demonstrate an interest in working across a variety of clinical specialties. Opportunities will be provided to support clinics in a broad range of services, which currently include:

  • Infectious Diseases
  • Surgery (General, Colorectal, Vascular and Plastic)
  • Haematology
  • Respiratory
  • Cardiology

This list is not exhaustive.

Working across such a wide spectrum of specialties offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad skill set and enhance clinical knowledge. Ongoing learning and development will be supported through bespoke training programmes alongside practical, on-the-job instruction.

Applicants must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Previous experience in an Outpatient setting would be advantageous; however, full training and support will be provided. A clear commitment to ongoing professional development is essential.
