The hours are 34.5 hoursas internal rotation over 3 days out of 7 on a rota basis toinclude long days, Nights, Weekends and Bank Holidays.

Main duties of the job

As a team we aspire to be compassionate,supportive and responsive to the needs of the patients we support. You will beresponsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients within our service,this will include but is not limited to, medication administration, wound care,phlebotomy, catheterisation, IVIs, ECGs, cannulation.

Within this role you will work closelywithin the multi-disciplinary team to support ongoing goal setting anddischarge planning, being an advocate for your patients as needed. You willplay an integral part, undertaking a holistic assessment to support careplanning. To do this you will need to demonstrate excellent communication andinterpersonal skills with the ability to be adaptable, reliable and resourceful.

Wecare for patients with sub-acute needs and ensure all staff are equipped withthe skills to care for these complex cases. Our training and developmentprogram supports all RNs in achieving core competencies, with opportunities togain skills such as cannulation, venepuncture, and IV competence. Person Specification Qualifications
  • RGN/RMN/RNLD
  • NMC Registered
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
  • Accredited course in Palliative Care, Tissue Viability, Diabetes and Dementia
Experience
  • Experience gained during pre-registration training
  • Post-registration experience in a Community Hospital setting
Knowledge
  • Rehabilitation Practice and Frailty
  • Competence in Male and Suprapubic Catheterisation
  • Venepuncture and IV therapy
  • Cannulation
  • Knowledge and understanding of MCA and Dols process
