We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic nurse with a passion for cardiology to join our committed team on the Acute Cardiac Unit in the Specialist Medicine Division.

ACU is a 27 bedded Cardiac Unit. If you are successful you will work within a specialised area, providing high quality care to patients with a variety of cardiac conditions including heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, myocardial infarction, valve disease and endocarditis. Working within this specialty you will be expected to take on extended roles associated with the specialism.

The ward is supported by an enthusiastic and established multidisciplinary team. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated nurse who is an enthusiastic team player. If you have experience that could be translated to this ward environment, if you are kind and caring, and you believe you meet our expectations, please apply - we are a friendly and passionate team who look forward to you joining us.

If you are willing to go the extra mile to make patients feel important and you always ensure that your colleagues are valued and an integral part of the team, then we would like you to apply and we look forward to meeting you.

Main duties of the job
  • To set and maintain high standards of nursing practice ensuring patients' needs are met.
  • To work effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
  • To participate in ward rounds, ensuring effective methods of communication.
  • To contribute to an effective learning environment and participate in own continual professional development.

Please note that if you currently work for another NHS Trust or UHSussex and you are applying to accept this position as a secondment opportunity, before applying you must seek agreement and authorisation from your current Trust/Manager. Secondments can't be agreed without this approval. If you are unable to gain approval you should refrain from applying unless you wish to take this role as a fixed term position.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route; however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25,000), and any role specific criteria.

We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
