Staff Nurse - Treatment Rooms

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Treatment Room service in the Greater Preston and Chorley South Ribble areas. If you are able to work autonomously, you are motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic then come and join our team of dedicated treatment room nurses.

The Treatment Room service currently operates from Monday to Friday excluding weekends and bank holidays. We are an appointment only service between the hours of 08.30 and 16.30 however we do hold 2 late evening clinics (up to 8pm) and one early clinic (8am start) once a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly over 5 days, be able to work well within a team and on their own initiative.

You will be committed, compassionate and have a patient-centered approach with the patient at the heart of everything you do.

You will have experience in treating patients through wound care, injections and related treatment room procedures is desirable.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high standard of clinical and nursing care within the treatment room setting, including nurse-led services.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care; undertake extended roles appropriate to treatment room services.
  • Provide care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, perform post-operative wound assessment, remove sutures and clips, administer intra-muscular injections, perform lower limb assessments, compression bandaging and ear irrigation.
  • Participate in a range of clinical and service audits within treatment room and comply with all policies and protocols relating to treatment room.
  • Assist in delivering objectives set out within the Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust business plan.
