Job Description

The shift pattern for this position is Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:30, Friday 08:00 - 14:30

Day Surgery and GGH theatres are fast paced environments and collaborative working is requisite as the successful candidate may require to work in multiple areas during their shift. Both these units are friendly and promotes ongoing personal and professional development.

You will be a First Level Registered Nurse trained in General Nursing or Adult Nursing. Experience in a Surgical Specialty is desirable, however training be provided to the successful candidate to become a skilled member of the team with the opportunity to rotate as necessary. This supports the 12 bedded overnight surgical ward, during daytime hours. You will be expected to provide the highest standard of Nurse led patient care within this area of the department, while being fully supported by your colleagues, your Charge Nurse and Senior Charge Nurse. The post holder should be a registered nurse who is highly motivated and enthusiastic to be part of this team.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and follow standards/protocols in order to give a quality service to patients You will be supported in expanding your knowledge and skills by our departmental practice development staff. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to

engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
