Main duties of the job

• Annual salary of £39,806.52 - £45,352.32 (depending on experience)

Job responsibilities Management Responsibilities

To participate in thesupervision, objectives and regular reviews of support staff on the Unit.

To support other qualifiedstaff and unit manager in the management and clinical supervision of staff onthe unit.

To provide support for staffin stressful situations.

To assist in the inductionof new staff and students on placement in the absence of the Unit Manager andUnit Team Leader and Head of Care.

To support relatives,visitors and other members of staff etc. when visiting the Unit.

Assist the Unit Manager andUnit Team Leader in ensuring the Unit is adequately and safely staffed fromwithin the agreed establishment by adopting a flexible approach in dutypatterns.

Observe the Statutoryrequirements of the Mental Health Act (1983) and advise other disciplines asrequired.

Responsible for maintaininghigh standards of clinical practice by the use of clinical examples andleadership skills.

Ensure that all staff adhereto the Companys Confidentiality Policy.

To assist the Unit Managerto ensure the unit meets the requirements for the Care Standards Act 2000.

Clinical Responsibilities

To actively participate withthe multidisciplinary team in assessment, formulation, implementation andevaluation of individual centred treatment plans.

Participate in ClinicalAudit

Observe the code ofProfessional Conduct as laid down by the Nursing Midwifery Council.

Provide support and adviceto statutory and voluntary agencies.

To report any complaints /mishaps/ accidents, in accordance with agreed procedures and prepare reportsfor the Clinical Manager / Unit Manager / Unit Team Leader

Ensure statutory training isreviewed regularly and that all staff are aware of regulations andproceduresto be followed.

To act as an advocate to theclient where appropriate ensuring that social, cultural and spiritual valuesare respected.

To be aware of thequirements of Area Health Authorities, Inspection Protocols and report toUnit Manager / Unit Team Leader and related issues.
