We are currently recruiting a Staff Nurse - Medical Oncology Inpatient Unit for a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland .
Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred nursing care to assigned patients in line with professional standards and the medical plan of care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including nursing history, ongoing observation, identification of nursing diagnoses, and evaluation of patient needs.
- Develop, implement, review, and update individualized plans of care, ensuring timely reassessment and appropriate modification of interventions and outcomes.
- Safely administer medications and treatments, execute medical orders, and promptly elevate and communicate any changes in patient condition to the multidisciplinary team.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, supporting patients with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate, professional, legible, and timely documentation of all nursing care, patient education, and responses to interventions.
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control policies, including aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and hospital-wide clinical guidelines.
- Demonstrate effective leadership and organizational skills, including appropriate delegation, risk management, complaint handling, and deputizing for the Nurse Manager when required.
- Actively participate in patient and family education, staff supervision, student preceptorship, and the induction and ongoing development of nursing staff.
- Maintain professional competence through continuous learning, performance review participation, effective time management, flexibility across departments, and adherence to NMBI Scope of Practice and hospital policies.
Registered General Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), holding an active licence in good standing.
Minimum of 1 year post-registration nursing experience preferred.
Previous experience in Oncology nursing is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Shows motivation, adaptability, and an innovative approach to clinical practice.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
Demonstrates awareness and understanding of change management within a healthcare environment.
