We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team at the Garner Inpatient Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our service users by delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
As a Staff Nurse, on our acute Dementia Unit, you will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, and for developing, implementing, and evaluating individualised programmes of care. You will also act as a designated named nurse for a number of patients, ensuring continuity and excellence in care delivery.

Main duties of the job- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in line with clinical standards.
- Provide named nurse responsibility for allocated patients.
- Offer leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff-both qualified and unqualified-during shifts.
- Ensure efficient and effective use of resources to maintain high standards of care.
- Contribute to teaching and supporting nursing and non nursing staff.
- Deputise for the Clinical Team Leader and Unit Manager when required.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications- Current professional registration - NMC
- To act as a for student university placements. Having the mentoring qualification or being willing to work towards this qualification and attending mentorship updates as required
- Experience of working with patients with a range of mental health problems.
- Previous experience of working in an inpatient environment.
- Previous recent experience in caring for the elderly with mental health conditions.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
